Requests for repeat prescriptions can be made in person, by post, fax (0131 557 2177) or e-mail to email@example.com. (E-mail users should be aware that this is not secure). Postal requests should be sent with a stamped addressed envelope if the prescription is to be posted back. No telephone requests can be accepted unless authorised by a GP.
Requests before 10 am
Requests received before 10am will normally be ready for collection after 2pm the following working day.
Requests after 10 am
Requests received after 10am will be ready for collection after 2pm in two working days.
Prescription collection – you must collect your prescription in person or provide us with your consent if you require a friend/relative to collect your prescription for you.
Some local pharmacies operate a prescription collection service. This can be arranged through the pharmacy. If you have given a pharmacy your consent to collect your prescriptions, you should allow time for the pharmacy to collect and dispense your medication before collecting it from the pharmacy.
Prescription requests from hospital consultants are not urgent and will be processed in the timeframe described above.
